MP backs biodiesel tax break campaign

Liberal Democrat MP Andrew George is backing a project to keep tax breaks for business who produce biodiesel.

Producers converting cooking oil into biodiesel currently benefit from a 20p differential but that is because of end next April.

The St Ives MP, who leads the Lib Dem Environment Team, has actually been meeting the UK sustainable biodiesel alliance.

Mr George said "a number of small organizations in Cornwall currently earn money from utilized cooking oil".

He included: "In order to be able to get this type of industry going it does need just a bit of lift which comes in the type of tax inescapable."
