The Middle East is a region where automobile is king and fuel is low-cost, frequently leaving little reward to discover more environmentally-friendly ways of moving around.

But this year, as protests throughout the Middle East have actually risen the rate of oil, the concern of finding alternative sources of fuel has entered into .

In an area that has one of the highest carbon footprints worldwide, one company is benefiting from the growing pressure to find alternatives to oil. It's set up the Middle East's very first scheme to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's showing lucrative too, currently their client-list consists of McDonald's.
